The partner shuffle (mirror drill) is a reactive agility drill where two athletes face each other in athletic stances. One athlete leads with random lateral movements, and the other mirrors them in real-time. It develops reactive change-of-direction speed and reading-the-opponent skills critical for team sports.

How to perform
- Two athletes stand facing each other 5 to 10 feet apart in athletic stances.
- Designate one as the leader and one as the follower.
- The leader begins shuffling laterally β left, right, forward, backward, in any pattern they choose.
- The follower mirrors the leaderβs movements in real-time β moving in the same direction.
- The leader changes direction frequently to challenge the followerβs reactive ability.
- Continue for 20 to 30 seconds.
- Switch roles. The follower becomes the leader.
- Stay low in athletic stance throughout. Quick, precise footwork.
