How to perform

  • Stand on a raised platform or step with the balls of your feet on the edge and your heels hanging off.
  • Hold onto a sturdy object for balance, such as a railing or wall.
  • Place a weight plate or dumbbell on top of your thighs, just above your knees.
  • Slowly lower your heels towards the ground, keeping your knees straight.
  • Pause at the bottom of the movement, then raise your heels as high as possible.
  • Hold the contraction at the top for a few seconds, then lower back down.
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps.
